Hockey Dawg has added a new page dedicated to hockey players lending a helping hand. Hockey Charities
We have begun with three 501(c)3 charities. We will add more, as they become known to us. Do you know of a Hockey Charity? Let us know in the comments section, we’ll check it out! Hockey Dawg wants to support and promote hockey players helping people!
Our first three hockey charity listings:
- Dawg Nation Hockey
- USA Warriors Hockey
- United Heroes League (UHL)
Dawgs Nation Hockey has raised more than $1.2 million and supports the Colorado community. We found out about Dawgs Nation Hockey, when a reader Googled Hockey Dawg. Dawg Nation Hockey popped-up. After doing some research, we were impressed in what they have accomplished in a relatively short period of time!
We have been aware of USA Warriors Hockey for some time now. They provide standing and sledge hockey opportunities for our service members who have been wounded or injured in defense of the United States. Their mission is both recreational, and therapeutic in nature. We think hockey as a two-pronged outlet for wounded warriors is a an excellent outreach program.
United Heroes League has been around for some time, we knew it by its former name: Defending the Blue Line. It has been recognized by United Military Network as a Top 5 Military Sports Charities. The UHL website reports they have “provided more than $3 MILLION dollars worth of free sports equipment, game tickets, cash grants, and skill development camps to military families across the US & Canada.”
The UHL ambassadors include football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse players. But hockey, far and away, has the most ambassadors, more than all other sports combined! The full list can be accessed by following the link.
Please Note: We provide the Hockey Charity Listing as a service only.
While we believe all these charities adhere to the highest standards, it is up each person to determine if the charity lives up to their standards. Please do your own research prior to donating. Thank you.
